This group of posts outline the fundamental basis for evaluating any shoulder problem. This construct was developed by Matsen, et al, at the University of Washington – and published in the 1994 text,
“Practical Evaluation and Management of the Shoulder”
It outlines the four fundamental pillars of normal shoulder function, and how problems develop when one of these pillars fails.
